Her real name is still Taeko Yasuhiro, and she made up her fake name to hide who she really is since her family has very dark secrets that could easily crumple her reputation if spilled. Hence why she also doesn't believe that she's really the Ultimate Lucky Student.

Korekiyo Shinguji - Ultimate Swordsman: Here, Kiyo is the support/deuteragonist. Celestia runs into him after escaping into the gym. In this AU, he's aloof, smart, but also starts showing kindness after a while. In Chapter One, he's the one to snap Celestia back to reality after she has her initial panic. He can come off as a bit hostile, but that's because growing up, he didn't have many friends as he spent most of his time training since his family are mostly famous warriors.

Sayaka Maizono - Ultimate Gambler: In this AU, she's more of an anti-hero then an antagonist. She's pretty rude and demanding, and she uses Kiibo to her advantage since he's the Ultimate Butler, and growing up, she had many butlers and maids to her aid whenever she needed them. Eventually, in Chapter Two, Sayaka starts to see that Celestia isn't a bad person, and starts to open up to her. Sayaka's cruel and sadistic personality stems from her childhood where her mother was killed by being burned, and her father basically abandoned her, so Celestia's really the only person she likes. Also, she ALWAYS wins every gambling match (Always? ALWAYS.) As well, she's a bit narcissistic, and thinks she's above everyone.

Byakuya Togami - Ultimate Gamer: Here, Byakuya is more of like an AI (like Chiaki), because his father wanted an heir, and none of his kids were "fit for it". So, Mr. Togami got a friend to create Byakuya. Though, Byakuya was never interested in the Togami Corporation, and took an interest in video games instead. He's a bit insensitive, but does mean well. He doesn't express much emotion, but is protective of the people he cares about, and he has a deep sense of justice. He knows his father doesn't love him, but as long as he has video games, he'll be happy.

Chiaki Nanami - Ultimate Pop Sensation: In this AU, Chiaki is a human. She's a lot more energetic then her game counterpart, and is like who she was in Danganronpa 3. Ever since she was a little girl, Chiaki had dreamed of being a famous star, despite her parents' wishes. She loves to write songs and sing with her group, even though after Chiaki gets trapped in the killing game, her girl group gets killed by the Ultimate Despair, which sends Chiaki into despair, though she masks it well. She'll write a song for everyone in the place, and she'll sing it as loud as she can. She's a great friend to have, like a golden retriever!

Gundham Tanaka - Ultimate Traditional Dancer: So, growing up, Gundham's home life was pretty bad. His family was VERY strict on what he ate, what he wore, and what he said. His house was near a street, and every afternoon, he would sneak there and feed all the tabby cats, making him gain their trust, and making him feel a sense of comfort. He's kind of an asshole in the AU, since he had a bad home life, and it left a huge mark on how he viewed people. Unfortunately, he doesn't want to warm up to anyone, as he's secretly scared they'll just use him, so he closes himself off, and he only trusts the tabby cats.

Hajime Hinata - Ultimate Inventor: Hajime's mother was rarely in the picture, causing him to develop a very close relationship with his father. When his father got ill and passed when Hajime was ten, he found all his father's unfinished inventions. Determined to finish them, Hajime worked for hours, nights even, to make his father proud. Hajime gets his vulgarity and bluntness from the highschool he was at before Hope's Peak Academy, since the crude and rudeness was basically the norm at where he was. Also, yes, Hajime is Izuru in this AU, though I'm still trying to figure out how to write that.

Mahiru Koizumi - Ultimate Astronaut: She's the Antagonist of the AU, so I probably should have placed her up way higher, but I'm too tired to change it. So, Mahiru's mother was an astronaut, and Mahiru has always been intrigued by space. In the village she lived at, she would tell the younger kids stories about space and amazing astronauts, forming a close bond with them. Unfortunately, a few months before Hope's Peak, Mahiru's village was burned down, leaving Mahiru homeless. When she saw the advertisement for Hope's Peak, she took it in a heartbeat. She's kind, a little naive, and protective to make sure she can keep everyone as safe as she can.

Mikan Tsumiki - Ultimate Pianist: School was a very tough time for Mikan, as she was always the targeting of bullying, though she felt safe in her music class. After a very traumatic event, Mikan basically clung to her piano, playing it every day, as many times as she could. She's shy, but also very determined and kind, and she's quite skilled at the other instruments other then piano! Which she personally finds to be very cool!

Nagito Komaeda - Ultimate Anthropologist: Nagito's house was very close to a library, so every day, after school, he would stop by the library and find a book. The ones about culture and evolution were the ones that intrigued him the most. He spent most of his childhood in the hospital, so the library was like a safe space for him. He's also aloof, but somewhat disturbing and also mature. He has to keep a close eye on Hajime, so he's basically Hajime's babysitter (lol).

Sonia Nevermind - Ultimate Detective: Sonia was always very smart, even as a young child, so she didn't have very many friends as she got frustrated by people who weren't as smart. One day, the detectives brought her in to see if she could help them with a case, and she solved it, pretty quickly. She can solve cases quicker then the average detective can. She's pretty quiet most of the time, but she also has a strong sense of justice, is no-nonsense and quick, and she really doesn't have as much empathy as she probably should.

Kaede Akamatsu - Ultimate Princess: So, Kaede is the princess of Japan, so she also has to follow strict and unfair rules. She often but heads with her parents since she wants to actually be her own person and not follow their rules. Her parents had arranged a marriage for her, and when she found out about this, she quickly signed up for Hope's Peak to escape this. She's kind, charming, curious, and always willing to learn. She may not give the best advice, but she tries her best!

Shuichi Saihara - Ultimate Artist: Shuichi here seems like your average Joe. He doesn't really talk highly of himself, and he just does art as a hobby, so he wasn't really expecting it to become his actual talent, lol. Despite all of this, he's fairly nice and pretty chill, but can also be pretty morbid due to the fact he was born and raised in an unusual church. No, he isn't religious. Also, he loves art, but he doesn't draw eyes when he draws people, as he finds it difficult to do (this will come in handy later).

Kirumi Tojo - Ultimate Magician: Growing up, Kirumi always loved magic. She was a street magician for a while before being allowed to enter a school that allowed her to embrace her interests. She's kind, energetic, and kooky since she had been seen as a "weird kid" by most people growing up. Despite this, she's incredibly loyal to those around her, and she can be scarily serious when she needs to.

Kiibo (Idabashi) - Ultimate Butler: So, in this AU, Kiibo is also human, so I will refer to him as Kiibo Idabashi. He always loved helping people, despite what they asked him to do. His father, Professor Idabashi, spent a lot of time on robotic engineers, so that led Kiibo to wander off... a LOT. He always enjoys to serve people, and he enjoys Celestia's company. He doesn't like Sayaka much though, as she uses him. There are also times where he feels empty, like a robot. Though, he's hardworking, devoted, and can take on even the hardest of tasks.

Rantaro Amami - Ultimate Photographer: Rantaro still has twelve sisters in this AU, and they always loved for him to take pictures of them, to where they would even ask him daily to take pictures of scenery they liked and outfits they liked. Rantaro found himself enjoying photography, even in the darkest of times. At first, he's bossy and a bit stubborn, but he eventually learns to trust his classmates and even befriends most of them. After that, he's kind, still a little stubborn and bossy, but more willing to hear others out. Also, him and Korekiyo become quite close very quickly!

I'm SO sorry that I talked more about the characters and their backstories then their roles!! I'll make a relationship chart of them in a post eventually. Also, this took a long while and isn't my usual content, so my bad! Also, if you read all of this, thank you 💕

Many years ago I had read an entry from the Livejournal Soul_Society, which was a very active place in the fandom during the first years of the series, where someone found very interesting the similarities between Renji and Rukia's symbology in chapter 98, and a famous poem of shakespeare, and this person wondered if Kubo based it on that poem. The post:

The poem :

Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove: O no! it is an ever-fixed mark That looks on tempests, and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark,

It's clear that last line reminds a lot of the "A star and a stray dog" title. That bark, even though is not referred here to a dog but a ship, is very easy to associate it to a dog .

If Kubo really based Renji and Rukia's "star and stray dog" symbology on it, he should have read the poem in English, because that "bark" is only related to a dog in the English language. Kubo has used some references for characters' symbology in other languages, like "Rosa Rubicundior, Lilio Candidior" for Renji and Byakuya, for a chapter and a volume title too, which is part of a song in Latin, although in this case he used the exact words of that song, not a resemblance of it.

That Shakespeare's poem talks about true love that overcomes all the obstacles, so it fits very well with Rukia and Renji's story, their love for each other remained through time and a long separation where they couldn't talk to and cross each others' path. They finally got to be together and marry, and too, in Renji's case, his love for Rukia was what kept him focused to overcome his fears and his self-imposed limits.

Even though Kubo wouldn't have really used that poem as a reference for "a star and a stray dog", it's really curious that the similarities are many.

Senku has a collection of something insane like shells or coasters or magnets. Anytime Byakuya travels, he brings one to his son. Senku doesn’t have the heart to tell his old man no.

Do not make this boy write an essay. He HATES HATES HATES it. He’ll 10,000,000,000% procrastinate until the last minute because he just doesn’t want to. Problem is, he’s so goddamn good at it that he exceeds expectations. “What do you mean there’s a word limit?” His professors usually give up and give him full marks without even reading.

Yes he gets pissy bc “I worked hard on that damn it.”

Absolute TERRIBLE patient. He has medical anxiety something awful—he knows because diagnosed himself with it before an actual licensed psychiatrist could.

But he cannot stand going to the doctor. He actually sits down and apologizes to his physician before his appointment. Like- “I want you to know that I know as much about medicine as you do. I am apologizing in advance because I will try to diagnose myself with everything that exists.”

His doctor is always like okay :3 here’s a lollipop.

Senku is probably a Vocaloid fan. Likes the Kagamine siblings and Araki. Hates Miku though.

And finally, for personal enjoyment, he has the most adorable genuine laughter. Like a true belly laugh after hearing a joke, getting his sides squeezed like no tomorrow, watching Chrome wipe out while trying parkour, etc. his laugh is adorable and highly contagious!!

-HQBXNWNSN HELP THE BYAKUYA COLLECTION 🤣🤣🤣 It’s probably a little of everything: shells, magnets, the occasional snowglobe- Oo, he gets Senku maps too! It’s a treasure trove of random things and like you said Senku simply doesn’t have the heart to refuse any of it (sometimes he wishes he treasured them more-especially after the passing of time)

-REAL- essays can choke 💀 Senku creates them last minute like you said, thriving off a combination of energy drinks and sheer audacity- no word limit he wrote an entire books worth on the topic no matter how vague or simple- sources and everything; him getting pissy is so funny- he starts including TLDR’s at the front of his essays cause if your gonna skim it you might as well have the base idea of what he’s on about qhbxbwndnsns 🤣🤣🤣

-HANXNWNDNND Bless him- he’s overdiagnosing himself to the extreme- a slight cough? Some rare lung disease. His belly hurts? Male pregnancy. His neck hurts- he must have some sort of newly discovered disorder. His doctor is so used to Senku’s medical anxiety he’s quick to reassure him he’s not dying or patient zero and always has a pocket of green apple lollies on him cause they help him calm down

-Ooo, YES! Like- he’s not really a super fan? But definitely enjoys the twins’ songs and Araki (who I didn’t know was a vocaloid 👀 it’s been so long since I was in the fandom)- I declare he also really likes Teto and Gumi, but Miku and Kaito not so much. He can’t stand “I’m thinking Miku” after Taiju played it so much it got stuck in his head for months. Now anytime he even hears the beginning of the song he immediately hits skip.

-HE ABSOLUTELY WOULD!! ITS HIS FAVORITE CAKE EVER- Byakuya made it for him once after Senku showed it to him and that’s been his birthday cake for years cause it’s so soft and delicious! (He likes those super soft cakes! Anything firmer than that he’ll eat but won’t enjoy as much); the day they learn how to make it in the stone world he’s nearly in tears after the first bite (not that he’d ever admit to that)

-YES! Our boys got them fidget legs! He’s always wiggling it about- kicking, tapping, bouncing, rolling his ankle about like a composure for ants- Gen once as a joke played patty cake with his swinging feet- it went on for five minutes before Senku realizes what was going on bxbwnxnwndnd If he can’t move his legs, he’ll fidget his toes or his fingers- he’s just gotta move something!

-YES! Puzzles are child’s play for him; crosswords, sudoku, wordle, (never heard of connections but that sounds fun!)- all of the things! He’s sitting there genuinely confused on how others don’t catch on sooner to the word whenever they do village wide wordle. He’ll get impatient after awhile and blurt out the word after the fourth bad guess and looks like an absolute genius to everyone from the village (the modern crew is both amused and kinda annoyed he gave it away so soon sans Taiju who is terrible at Wordle and genuinely impressed)

-HIS LAUGH!! He’s got that loud contagious giggle- the kind where he absolutely collapses on the floor and kinda flails about during! It’s hilarious and infectious- the kind where he’ll snort if he laughs hard enough with tears in his eyes. Tickles works wonders on him, Chrome flopping at parkour (while screaming “PARKOUR”- that’s what really gets him), Taiju’s endless expressions and Gen’s deadpan sass: it gets him laughing and once he starts he can’t stop. Very prone to laugh attacks!

-I got one more for ya: Senku has a weakness for dad jokes. He will groan and moan over them whenever someone lets one rip, but they bring him such joy and will leave him giggling later when he remembers them.

Do you know about dino squad it's a 2000s cartoon about teens that can turn into dinosaurs... IMAGINE the trigger happy havoc cast as dinosaurs..

Oh boy, I've heard of it but not seen it. I don't think I know enough about dinosaurs to do the subject justice. (I didn't really have a dinosaur phase as a kid. I know basic types, like brontosaurus, triceratops, etc., and I saw Land Before Time: The Mysterious Island while I was visiting my cousins when I was little and still sing some of the songs occasionally, but I never got deep into dinosaur stuff.)

BUT, what I do have is, I'm feeling triceratops for Sakura. It's just a feeling I have.

I like Byakuya as a pterodactyl.

And now I'm also imagining Gundham as someone who can help the THH cast get out of dinosaur form, if for some reason they have difficulty. Like, if one of them is too worked up to change back to human, Gundham can calm them down. He's the dinosaur handler.

And Mikan is the dino nurse. She tends to injuries when they're in dino form, because if they get hurt really badly, they're discouraged from changing back to human, because proportionally the injury might kill them as a human.

I think this is a sign that I need to draw more Chihiro in general. The people crave more content of the little programmer! Also I once again took so long with this piece that I ended up listening to not one, not two, not even three this time but four different songs again! The second one also made me suddenly develop the headcanon that Chihiro's favorite Sonic character is Tails. Take that however you want.

I will make a bigger list of Bleach characters with songs paired to them one day, for now this is a sneak peek. Mind you not all these songs fit the characters to a T but among those I listen to on repeat, these come very very close.

EDIT: I have realized that Headlock fits Byakuya more than Rukia so I changed it. Also added Liability by Lorde to Orihime. I added other songs to Kenpachi because I believe it relates to his childhood and the relationship he has with Yachiru, and these added songs give a bleaker/more tragic intepretation of his character. I added a few songs for Mayuri and one or two for As Nodt as well. Shunsui too, though for the moment only one song among those I know fits him.
